ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Health Net Federal Services, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Health Net, Inc. (NYSE:HNT), today announced its call center operations have been certified as a Center of Excellence by BenchmarkPortal for the third consecutive year.

“The BenchmarkPortal Center of Excellence certification demonstrates Health Net Federal Service’s commitment to complement the military’s health care system and help ensure we are performing at our highest capabilities and delivering exceptional service,” said Billy Maynard, president of Health Net Federal Services.

According to BenchmarkPortal, the top 10 percent of call centers evaluated by BenchmarkPortal achieve the Center of Excellence distinction based on best-practice metrics drawn from the world’s largest database of objective and quantitative call center data that is audited and validated by researchers from BenchmarkPortal.

The certification process involved audits of call center operations jointly operated by Health Net Federal Services and PGBA, which serve TRICARE beneficiaries and providers in the North Region. About Health Net Federal Services

Health Net Federal Services has a long history of providing cost-effective, quality managed health care programs for government agencies, including the U.S. Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs (VA). As the managed care support contractor for the TRICARE North Region, Health Net Federal Services provides health care services to approximately 2.8 million uniformed services beneficiaries, active and retired, and their families. In addition, Health Net Federal Services provides quality, cost-effective health care solutions for veterans, as well as behavioral health services for active duty service members, veterans and their families.

Additionally, Health Net Federal Services administers the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Patient-Centered Community Care (PCCC) program in three of six regions across the United States (regions 1, 2 and 4), which includes all or portions of 37 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The PCCC program provides eligible veterans access to health care through a comprehensive network of community-based, non-VA medical professionals who meet VA quality standards when VA supplements care outside its own facilities. The program augments the VA’s ability to provide specialty inpatient and outpatient health care services, as well as behavioral health care, limited emergency care and newborn care services to enrolled veterans. The PCCC program also includes providing care to Veterans through the Veterans Access, Choice and Accountability Act of 2014 (Veterans Choice Act), either because of their lack of proximity (40-mile drive) to a VA Medical Center or clinic or because they have been unable to schedule an appointment with VA within 30 days.
